Over the last five years, my acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine practice has specialized in women’s health. I see a wide range of patients with all different types of concerns. My practice consists of women who are suffering from hot flashes, menstrual problems, infertility, migraines, menopause, muscular skeletal pain, PMS, digestive issues, and many other conditions.

In this winter season, living in a society that doesn’t honor time to rest and slow down, illness and disease can show up at full force for many women.  Women are often the ones who are working, taking care of the family, responsible for planning holiday parties and preparations.  When we look at nature we see that it is resting, rejuvenating, replenishing and yet humans are often busier than any other time of year.

Acupuncture’s number one “side benefit” is that it allows the body and mind to relax. Patients often report while having a treatment that they feel extremely calm.  In order for the body to function optimally it must shut off the flight or fight response.  When the body is relaxed it can then begin to heal and come into balance, rejuvenate and replenish itself.

During this time of winter make sure to care for yourself so you can continue to care for those in your life.  The healthier you are the more available you are to your family, friends and to do the things in your life that are most important. This winter season; give them the gift of a healthy, vibrant woman in their life.

Happy Winter!
