Hello everyone,

I hope that you are staying warm during this cold, snowy weather!

The snowfall reminded me of the following journal entry from last year.

I woke up Saturday to snow covering the ground in my backyard and noticed that the yard looked different.  Adding the snow changed my perspective and made me see the space in a new way.  My yard looked bigger and a small boulder rested underneath the snow. Previously, when the yard and rock had been bare,  I’d looked in my backyard without really taking notice.

Each time we come to our mats can be like coming to a fresh snowfall.  We have the opportunity to make brand new prints and trails in the snow.  When we see things in new ways it can change and transform our practice.

Come practice and play this week as we use the theme of snow to explore the placement and distribution of weight in our hands and feet.  We will make “snow prints” and explore the connection between our prints and inner and outer rotation of our arms and legs, giving more freedom and stability to the hips and shoulders.
