This week is a continuation of last week’s topic on the benefits of taking breaks during our day. One of my favorite ways to think of breaks is as daily maintenance. We all know that if you don’t take your car in for routine service it will most likely break down.  We too benefit from “routine service”, and yoga offers ways to keep our body and mind running smoothly as we stretch, strengthen and breathe.

Whether you have time for a mindful breath, one yoga pose, or a whole yoga practice, yoga can be a great way to turn inward and take inventory.

This week we slow down and experience the detailed pieces of Warrior I pose and how they work as a whole. This one pose is a delicious juicy way to counteract the issues that are caused by too much sitting. A great break to stretch the hip flexors, strengthen the legs, engage the core and open up the chest – all in one pose!

Come to practice and  lift your heart in Warrior I. Breathe in the new space you’ve created in your day and enjoy all the benefits that come with it.
