Body As Instrument

A cello concerto composed by Edward Elgar inspired this week’s classes!

This week as we practice we will especially focus on the psoas- a large deep set of muscles that connects the femur bone to the spine.

Our psoas can become short from sitting, tipping our pelvis forward and impacting easeful posture. Our psoas should be toned, but also able to release and lengthen. We want it to be supple.

Like the music of the cello concerto the psoas connects us deep within and through attending to it, offers release and freedom.

Come use your body as an instrument – connect to your own rhythm, unwind and release deep tension in the body.
